How payments work (Mobile Money)
Secure checkout: Buyers pay in ZMW through an accredited mobile money gateway (e.g., major Zambian wallets). They approve the charge on their phone (PIN/USSD/app). We never see or store PINs.
Funds held until delivery: Once paid, the amount is authorised and held (escrow-style). The order shows as Payment Authorised in your dashboard. Money isn’t released to the vendor until the buyer confirms delivery or the acceptance window expires (for perishables this window may be shorter, as stated on the order).
Payouts to you: After acceptance, the gateway releases funds net of the nominal transaction fee to your chosen payout method (bank account or mobile money wallet), following the posted payout schedule. An active vendor subscription (50 ZMW/year) is required to receive payouts.
Refunds & disputes: If an order is cancelled or a dispute is upheld, the gateway refunds the buyer to the same mobile money wallet. While a dispute is open, funds remain on hold.
Security & compliance: Payments are processed over encrypted connections; approvals occur within the mobile money ecosystem. We follow KYC and anti-fraud checks and keep detailed receipts for auditing.
